Synopsis: When Michael is fifteen he has a brief but heated affair with Hanna, a woman in her mid-30’s who finds him sick and feverish in the street and cares for him. Nearly a decade later in Post-WWII Germany, Michael has become a law student and is astonished to find Hanna had become a Nazi prison guard and was on trial for murder. He discovers a secret that might affect her sentencing but is too ashamed of their affair to come forward.
